Hello and welcome to my journey through MA Design Studies/Applied Imagination in the Creative Industries. I use my blog to post my progress and reflective journal entries. I will also record anything that inspires me. Towards the end of the year I will also let you know about our final show. Please feel free to comment on any entry, feedback and iteration is a core element of my studies.

Karen, Costume Designer, London
Today I have spent a day in West London talking to designers and interviewing Karen, Costume Designer about her amazing work on attachment theory, she has created some very moving installations using a very angry child-sized manikin she found in a boot sale. She is exploring the emotional bonds children who have been adopted or fostered have with their carers, schooling and extended communities. It's a wonderfully powerful project, her artefact's are a very strong dimensionalisation of quite complex issues, so they are extremely inspiring to me on my journey through MADS and her interview was full of great soundbites that I need to digest.
